Magaja ladoo Ingredient

  • Wheat flour(Atta) – 3 cups 
  • Suddh Ghee – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Pepper – 10 to 12
  • Black Cardamoms – 1 to 2

Preparation  Process of Magaja ladoo recipe

Make a powder of pepper , cardamoms and sugar and  keep aside.

Heat a kadai and pour all the ghee.

Once it melts add atta and mix well and stir continuously to avoid sticking at the bottom.

Continue this process till the color of atta changes slightly brown.

Now add sugar  powder and mix well and turn off the burner immediately.

Make round balls of lemon size and do this process while the mixture is hot . 

‘Magaja Ladoo / Wheat Flour Ladoo‘ which is one of the famous Chhapana bhoga (56 offerings) of Lord Jagannath, Puri district of Odisha. Every day 56 food items as Mahaprasad are offered to deities throughout the year at six particular times a day, starting from morning.

These ladoos are made using whole wheat flour, sugar and ghee. This is an authentic Odia dish which is made most of the time during festivities. The whole process is so simple and easy to follow as well. The main crucial factor here is the ratio of wheat flour to ghee should be 3:1. Also these ladoos are so soft it breaks easily.

NOTES:

The wheat flour and ghee ratio is the crucial factor here in this Magaja Ladoo ladoo. The ratio must always be 3:1 always.

Always prefer to use the freshly ground cardamom as well as black pepper powder instead of store bought ones to get much flavor in the ladoos.

Magaja Ladoos stay fresh easily for a week at room temperature in an airtight container.
